Meet Lesley Bradstreet
Lesley Bradstreet is a fine art photographer residing in Austin, Texas. Her work has been exhibited in many venues and juried shows, mostly in Central Texas. She has been featured in the ICM Photography Magazine several times and on the cover in March, 2025. She uses techniques such as intentional camera movement and multiple images to create works ranging from painterly to impressionism to abstract. She has developed her voice over many years, and continues to explore new avenues to move her work from descriptive to evocative.
Photography for me is a contemplative practice. It has taught me to slow down the monkey-mind and "hurry-up" that has driven me for my entire life. It has taught me to be fully present in the moment and has given me a renewed sense of awe and reverence for the world we live in.
Photography is my way of connecting with the world; of being fully engaged; of appreciating the tiniest detail to being awed by its vastness; of a fascination with its textures and colors, with its beauty, uniqueness and quirkiness. It is a new way of experiencing a world that makes it more alive and vibrant than I could have imagined.
I have always believed that photography can be more than a record of what stands before the lens. It can be an act of interpretation—a way of transforming light, movement, and color into images that evoke memory, emotion, and wonder. My work invites viewers to slow down, look beyond the obvious, and discover beauty that is often felt before it is seen. Somewhere between photography and painting lies a place where imagination takes flight, and that is where I love to create.
